#jzebraa with #MVP at Filming of #AStarIsBorn

Michael and I (jzebraa) had a great time Friday in Los Angeles at The Shrine Auditorium as extras (again, in our 3rd and 4th scenes) in the filming of A Star Is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

This photo shows the seating layout at The Shrine. We numbered our seating arrangements 1 to 6. Number 1 and 4 were our waiting seats during stage setup(1) and lighting/sound checks(4). The seats, numbered 2, were our first seats as extras for the day. It was where we sat when Lady Gaga informed us that her real life best friend had died from cancer that morning and that this scene may be difficult for her.

Then the cameras were on and she sang an original song that had everyone in tears. They did several takes with us in these seats. I think we have a good shot of being seen because they brought us wardrobe and the woman next to us a shawl after the second cut for different camera angles. Seats(3) were temporary while they ran everyone by groups through metal detectors. We were informed that some cell phone lock cases were found cut open and they wanted to avoid leaks of the filming. They did find these people that were breaking the rules. Seats 5 were balcony crowd scenes. And the final number 6 seats were close up audience scenes as shot from behind Gaga on stage. As amazing as it may be, The Shrine Auditorium is the same location as the filming of parts of the Judy Garland version of A Star Is Born. It's also where they filmed the audience scene in the 1933 King Kong where he was caged on stage on display. It is also where Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire in the Pepsi commercial and where he brought Madonna as his date to the 1991 Academy Award Oscars. A small bit of Shrine Auditorium history!
