New Madonna Photo Book Will Feature Never Before Seen Portraits by Ken Regan

A new Madonna photo book is on the way. Madonna: Into the Groove is set for release this October, and will feature images by famed rock & roll photographer Ken Regan, plus accompanying text by former Rolling Stone staff writer Tomás Mier.

Madonna: Into the Groove features images of the Queen of Pop from 1985. That year found her on the Virgin Tour, performing at Live Aid, and starring in the screwball comedy Desperately Seeking Susan. Across approximately 200-pages, the new photo book features portraits of the rising star as she became a global icon.

"These images are a perfect encapsulation of his talent, capturing the Queen of Pop at a pivotal, electric moment in her own career and in music history."

Few people know of its existence, but Bobcat Cave in Huntsville, Alabama, is one of the most unique ecosystems in the United States. With a mapped length of nearly 1,490 feet, the underground limestone network is only passable through low, water-filled tunnels and mud-slick crawlways. Despite these claustrophobic confines, researchers have spent nearly 40 years regularly monitoring Bobcat Cave for its rare resident, the Alabama cave shrimp (Palaemonias alabamae). The tiny, extremely endangered species of nearly translucent freshwater crustacean is only documented in cave systems stretching between Alabama and Tennessee, making them invaluable to conservationists.

 the Auburn University Museum of Natural History, said in a statement. "This was different. This was a new discovery that had not been seen before, and that is really rare."
