In Memory of James E. Hagerty and his partner Steve Spence
I was shocked to hear the news that a mentor and his partner, who were our friends, James E. Hagerty and his partner Steve Spence had passed away. James and Steve had run an ad back in 2011 that said "Gay Friendly" house for rent in Morongo Valley, California. So, Michael and I called saying we would love to rent the house just miles from Palm Springs. It had the most fantastic million dollar view.

James was instrumental in getting the first stoplight in Morongo Valley, California
and a mentor to many like myself. I "Thank" him for everything I saw heard and learned while being near him for the one year that we lived there. Friendship and Skills of Life. "Don't Squander Your Time" he would tell me. Steve and James are both greatly missed in Morongo. Steve was a fantastic chef and James had stories to tell of early California Desert living. They have had 100s of desert parties for charity with 1000s of guest over the years. James was always part of the "Highway 62 ART Tour" of the Desert in Morongo Valley, California. He was also a volunteer member of the Morongo Valley Clean Team.
