Drake Hogestyn, who played John Black on “Days of Our Lives” for 38 years, died on Saturday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 70.

Hogestyn first appeared on “Days of Our Lives” on Jan. 24, 1986. He went on to play John Black — the mysterious and heroic spy, mercenary, police officer, private investigator and secret agent — in more than 4,200 episodes of the NBC soap (which, since 2022, has aired episodes on Peacock).

R.I.P. Catherine Vernice Glover- AKA ‘Cat.'

Born Catherine Vernice Glover in Chicago on July 23, 1964, Glover began dancing at age 5, reaching her first rush of recognition in 1986 as part of the dance duo Pat & Cat with Patrick Allen on Star Search. The act was the competition’s first to nab a perfect four-star score.

During the late 1980s, she was a dancer and backing vocalist on Prince’s Sign o’ the Times and Lovesexy tours, rapping on the The Black Album track “Cindy C.” and the Lovesexy album’s “Alphabet St.” She appeared in various videos associated with those albums as well as in the 1987 Prince concert film Sign o’ the Times. After parting ways with Prince – addressing various rumors as to the reason, Glover said in a 2018 radio interview that she chose to leave, in part, due to Prince’s focus on the 1989 Batman soundtrack.

Returning Lizzy to the owner the next day to find out

that it had been the owner Regina's Birthday

the day that she had lost her puppy!

She was so Happy to see her puppy again!

She gave both Michael and I a Hug!

Ai Weiwei Sculpture Purposefully Broken During Exhibition Opening in Italy

The destroyed work was Ai’s blue-and-white Porcelain Cube, which was included in a survey on Ai titled “Who am I?”

Footage of the destruction was captured on CCTV and posted to Instagram by Ai. In the video, the man steps onto the plinth that holds the Cube and pushes it forward, shattering the work.

A rare painting from René Magritte’s famous “L’empire des lumières” series is estimated to sell for more than $95 million at Christie’s New York this fall, a sum that would break the Surrealist artist’s record at auction and represent a major win for the auction house after softened sales across the industry. “L’empire des lumières,” from 1954, is one of the 27 paintings in which Magritte explored light by painting a sunlit sky above a darkened street scene. In 2022, another one of the works from the series nearly tripled the Belgian artist’s previous record when it sold for £59.4 million (then $79.7 million) at Sotheby’s in London

The present painting comes from the estate of the late Mica Ertegun, an interior designer who was married to Ahmet Ertegun, a co-founder of Atlantic Records and a prolific art collector. Other works to be included in the sales of her collection include pieces by household names like Joan Miró, David Hockney and even a Polaroid photo of Ertegun herself taken by Andy Warhol.

“But of all the works she lived with, Magritte’s ‘L’empire des lumières’ most nearly captures her aesthetic philosophy in its balance and restraint,” Max Carter, Christie’s vice chairman of 20th and 21st century art, said in a statement. “An icon of Surrealism, the Ertegun Magritte is arguably the finest, most deftly rendered and hauntingly beautiful of the series. Like Mica’s eye, it is perfect.”
